New York City - Sunday, July 20, 2008 40s PLUS DAY TRIP: TANGLEWOOD, MENDELSSOHN & THE BOSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA |
|
This was such a delightful day trip for our Real Live People Party single members. The BSO organized everything so perfectly that the whole day was easy, relaxed and effortless. We managed to get from NYC to Tanglewood without stopping at one red light! We enjoyed the delicious lunch when we arrived, the tour of the grounds was interesting and informative. Tanglewood and the Berkshires are absolutely gorgeous. Our group really appreciated the upgraded tickets for the shed and everyone really enjoyed the superb musical performance of Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony. Great job and kudos to the Boston Symphony. Check out the 2 testimonials for this event on our Testimonials Page. |
New York City - Thursday, July 17, 2008 JULY BUSINESS NETWORKING COCKTAIL RECEPTION AND CRUISE |
|
What an amazing evening we spent on the water with members of The NYC Business Networking Group. The cruise itself was delightful and most people seemed to enjoy that part of the evening. The view of the waterfalls were really beautiful also. As far as the networking portion of the evening, we had time to network for a little while before the event but the cruise itself was quite crowded so it was not easy for our group to find each other so we could network together. It seemed more like a social gathering than a networking event but that's not bad either every now and again. We'll be back to our regular "pitch" event next month. |
New York City - Monday, July 14, 2008 JEWISH SINGLES PARTY AT TAVERN ON THE GREEN |
|
We hosted about 90 odd members of Real Live People Party at our 4th Annual Jewish Singles Garden Party at Tavern on the Green. It was Salsa night so some of our members took to the dance floor while other just hung out at the bar with other members to socialize together. We did seem to have more men than women at this event and I'm sure that was because of the humidity. Ladies...take note that less women go out when it's humid or raining, but way more men. Hint, hint, the odds for meeting guys when the weather isn't good is much better than when the weather is good. |
New York City - Sunday, July 13, 2008 SINGLES NIGHT: VOLLEYBALL GAME WITH PIZZA & BEER ON THE JCC ROOF |
|
This was a night of singles, summer fitness and fun. Our group of 25 players spiked, dunked and bumped their way around the courts and some just watched and were part of the cheering squad. We started out with drills to warm everyone up and get a little practice in. Then we played 3 games of volleyball. Everyone who wanted to play had a chance as we rotated the players so everyone could have a go. After the game we had a late picnic of delicious pizza and cold beer on the roof of the Jewish Community Center. The weather was wonderful for the picnic...way to go. Great night everyone and thanks for attending. |
New York City - Wednesday, July 9, 2008 THE BIOLOGICAL CLOCK: TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR DATING LIFE |
Real Live People Party and Extend Fertility hosted a free informational session to educate and empower women about their fertility options. We had 66 women attend this panel discussion which focussed on the biological clock and its impact on dating and personal relationships. Topics included the latest advances in assisted reproductive technology and fertility preservation; fertility basics and myths; the challenges associated with trying to conceive; and how the reality of the biological clock impacts interpersonal relationships, personal decision-making and dating. Panelists included Dr. Jeffrey Klein and Dr Georgia Witkin of Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York and Ilana Eberson, expert in the dating, relationships and personal growth fields.
Testimonials From The Event
I wanted to write and thank you for a great event last night - it was incredibly informative and helpful. I just turned 30 a month and a half ago, and that switch really had me panicking re: the biological clock as I'm not in a 'steady' relationship, but at the same time don't want to rush into one or feel panicky when I'm out meeting guys. Thanks again so much. Signed V, NY
Just wanted to thank you again for organizing the session last night. A LOT of food for thought. From Suzan in NY |
New York City - Wednesday, June 25, 2008 40s PLUS SINGLES SUMMER SOIREE AND ROOFTOP PARTY |
|
This was Real Live People Party's first 40s Plus party for the summer. We had a great turnout with over 80 single members attending. Some great connections were made...as I could see several couples were still at the party when I left. I am sorry we had to share the rooftop and that it was covered, which kind of defeats the purpose of a rooftop party if you can't see the sky. I advertised it for use by just our group and I booked this party over a month ago but Red Sky Bar did not keep their word to us about anything. I appreciate that our attendees had a good sense of humor about the unexpected changes to our event. |
New York City - Tuesday, June 24, 2008 COUGAR & CUBS SPEED DATING PARTY: GALS 40 - 55, GUYS 25 - 37 |
|
Real Live People Party singles hosted our 4th Cougar and Cub event this month. We had 12 single guys attending and 10 single gals. Out of the 22 people who attended, 19 of them had at least one match. The highest match rate for the guys was 6 gals and the highest match rate for the gals was 4 matches. There really is something so comfortable and relaxed about this particular Speed Dating event. This event is starting to be my favorite because we make so many matches at each one. |
New York City - Thursday, June 19, 2008 RETROFEST 1967 SUMMERTIME MUSIC CONCERT AND BENEFIT |
|
Real Live People Party and Retro69 hosted a tribute concert to the Monterey International Pop Festival and Woodstock to benefit "Save One Person, Save The World", A Project Of The Meaningful Life Center. We had a great turnout and the music ran non-stop from 6:00 - 11:00. This era of music just makes you want to get up and dance and I couldn't sit still the whole night. Artists covered at the event included Lou Rawls, Simon & Garfunkel, The Animals, Canned Heat, Country Joe & The Fish, Al Kooper, The Steve Miller Band, The Byrds, Laura Nyro, Jefferson Airplane, Booker T & The MG's, Otis Redding, Buffalo Springfield, The Who,The Grateful Dead, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and The Mamas & The Papas. |
New York City - Monday, June 16, 2008 JEWISH SINGLES 30s & 40s SPEED DATING PARTY |
|
Mother Nature is sure kicking my butt this month. Thank goodness the heavens didn't open up till most of our singles got to Cafe Notte. We had an even ratio for tonight's singles speed dating party with 13 men and 13 women. Out of the 26 who attended 17 of them had at least one match and the highest matcher got 4 matches. Tonight's event was great fun and we also had an interesting character attending. Only those who attended know what this private joke means :o) Ladies...thanks so much for having a good sense of humor about this. I appreciate it. |
New York City - Saturday, June 14, 2008 JEWISH SINGLES SATURDAY NIGHT YACHT CRUISE UNDER THE STARS |
|
OMG...Strike 3 with the weather and my events this week. What a wash-out tonight was. I leave home and the weather is gray but OK and I get to the ferry and the skies opened up for 45 minutes solid. The thunder, lightning and wind made the evening a nightmare because we couldn't decide to get on the boat or not. I'm not interested in being cooked by lightning on the water and most of my members were in agreement. Even though the boat sailed in that weather, (can you believe it?) but we decided not to go. On the plus side, after the storm broke we were delighted to watch the most spectacular fireworks display for about 20 minutes. We don't know who put them on but they were amazing. After all that storming this was a marvelous way to end the evening even though we couldn't go on the boat. Thanks to those of you who braved the conditions to come down and meet us. |
New York City - Monday, June 9, 2008 4TH ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY AT TAVERN ON THE GREEN |
|
Oy Vey...was today a 1000 degrees or what? This heatwave is running amok with my events. Real Live People Party had our 4th Garden Party at Tavern on the Green but the heat and humidity was excruciating. We normally get hundreds of people at this event but who could deal with the heat! If I didn't have an event booked that night I'd have spent the night with some high-powered air conditioning. Thank you so much to the over 60 of you who were brave enough to come out to the garden for our first Tavern singles event of the year. As much as I like having these yearly events Tavern needs to have available indoor space on nights like this when you can fry an egg on the sidewalk...or some fans may have been helpful. I hope our other Tavern events will not be so hot. |
New York City - Wednesday, June 4, 2008 SIZZLIN SINGLES SUMMER SOIREE AND ROOFTOP PARTY |
|
The weather drove me crazy today because we had our first singles rooftop party booked at Red Sky Bar & Lounge. The weather was iffy all day but we went ahead with the event anyhow. What ended up happening? We had over 40 people show up but we ended up with double the amount of guys than girls. Ladies, keep this in mind and I've seen it dozens of times. When it rains, less girls tend to go out but the guys don't care about hair frizz. If you're looking to meet guys, you'll do really well on a rainy night with the ratio of guys out there. Believe me, I understand about frizz given the amount of hair I have :o) The party ended up being pretty good but I gave everyone a comp because the ratio was so unbalanced. |
New York City - Tuesday, June 3, 2008 SINGLES 40s & 50s SPEED DATING PARTY |
|
Wow...this was a first for this age group. We had more men than women at this 40s/50s event and it's normally the other way around. We had 15 men and 13 women attending. Of the 28 who attended, 23 of our singles folks had at least one match, a couple of the guys had 6 dates and 1 of our gals had 8 matches. Guys...I can't emphasize enough how easy and relaxed our speed dating events are. The whole event had a really good vibe. |
New York City - Monday, June 2, 2008 SINGLES 30s & 40s SPEED DATING PARTY |
|
Speed Dating is THE Best Way To Meet Many Singles in 1 Night! Another night of great matches at our Singles speed dating party. We had 14 men and 14 women so our ratio was perfect. Of the 28 people who attended 22 of them had at least 1 match and one guy got 10 matches. Hey guys...make sure you sign up for the next event. We provided the singles and attendees just turned up and had 14 mini-dates. It's so easy, relaxed and fun with no rejection and no awkward moments. |
New York City - Sunday, June 1, 2008 1ST TRIATHLON SYMPOSIUM AT JCC OF MANHATTAN |

There were free classes held all day throughout the building as well as several sporting stores and triathlon related products and services who were selling their products and services in the lobby of the building. |

New York City - Monday, May 19, 2008 COUGAR AND CUBS SPEED DATING PARTY: OLDER GALS AND YOUNGER GUYS |
|
What a fabulous event it was and what a great vibe we had going the whole evening. HBO filmed our event for a lifestyle documentary which should air in the fall. They filmed some of our single members while they were on their mini-dates and interviewed several of our attendees about their opinions of cougar and cub dating and the whole "age issue". Thanks to those of you who volunteered to be interviewed. I really appreciate it. We had 29 single cougar and cubs who attended the event and 25 of them each had at least one match. Some had as high as 8 matches. Woohoo. I love helping people get together. |
New York City - Tuesday, May 13, 2008 JEWISH SINGLES 20s & 30s SPEED DATING PARTY |
|
This event was for our Jewish Members only and it was a really nice group of singles. I really liked the vibe for this event because it was a warm and friendly group of people and they all seemed to enjoy themselves as well. We had 14 women attending and 12 men. Out of the 26 singles who attended 21 of them had at least one match and some had up to 5 matches. As I always say Speed Dating is THE Best Way To Meet Many Jewish Singles in 1 Night! |
New York City - Saturday, May 10, 2008 40s PLUS SINGLES SATURDAY NIGHT CHELSEA BREWERY TOUR & MIXER |
|
Real Live People Party hosted a singles tour around the only working Brewery in Manhattan at The Chelsea Brewing Company. We met at the bar for a quick beer and then entered behind the glass doors to check out where the brewing actually happens. The brewermaster taught us all about the process of making beer, the different styles, alcohol levels, ingredients, the brewing process, storage and serving. They busted all the beer myths. I don't really like beer (yes I know...I'm Australian and I should love it...NOT) but the tour was really interesting. After the tour each attendee was able to sample six of their signature beers some of which will not be available again...much to the frustration of our attendees who all seems to like that particular beer. |
